Ram Chillarege (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Ph.D), has a speciality consulting practice in software engineering analytics. His practice helps software development organizations gain speed, efficiency and security.
One of his inventions is Orthogonal Defect Classification (ODC). A technique for software engineering process and product diagnostics, that earned him the IEEE Technical Achievement Award. He has helped implement ODC at several Fortune 500 companies in the US, Europe, and Asia. Savings reported by companies, due to ODC, range from tens of millions of dollars to hundreds.
Ram was educated at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign in Electrical and Computer and Engineering (Ph.D), the Indian Institute of Science (B.E., M.E), and the University of Mysore (B.Sc). He has authored ~50 peer reviewed technical articles and is an IEEE Fellow. He has served on steering committees, editorial boards, program committees, and the board of the Illinois ECE department. He founded the Center for Software Engineering at the T.J. Watson Research, and spear headed the creation of IBM's corporate-wide Test Initiative. He currently chairs the IEEE Steering committee for Software Reliability Engineering. Recently, he was recognized with the IEEE Computer Society Meritorious Service Award.
Ram's trainng, coaching and consulting tap on this vast experience to inform and energize your engineering and management teams. He has, through his practice, touched thousands of software engineers word-wide.
